Happy New Year!

The Oli Brown Band finished off 2008 doing some gigs in schools in Norfolk and Suffolk to give students a chance to see a live band in their own school. We had a great time and met loads of enthusiastic pupils.

My new Premier kit arrived early December! its first proper public outings will be in March when the Oli Brown Band OPEN ROAD UK Tour kicks off.

Kit specs are follows:

Premier Series Classic drums in Rainforest Sparkle
6-ply 100% American Maple unsupported shells featuring Premier's new flush iso-mounting system
10" x 8" tom, 12" x 9" tom, 16" x 16" floor tom, 22" x 16" bass.

These lovely drums are protected by a new set of Hardcase cases. Thanks to Robert Masters at Premier for his invaluable assistance, above and beyond the call of duty.

Another drum kit arrived in early January - this time a secondhand 1960's Premier Olympic. It's in need of a lot of TLC - new heads, tension bolts, lugs, etc, as well as a jolly good scrub! I thought it was about time I got one as I've been looking after the Vintage Olympic website for David McCready for a few years now.

Oli is off to Europe next week for Ruf Record's Blues Caravan Tour along with Erja Lyytinen and Joanne Shaw Taylor. Once he's back in mid-February rehearsals begin for the Open Road tour (dates on gig page).
